For me to come closer

How close can you orbit
To the sun
Before you burst to flames?

I feel compelled to ask such questions
As the tailwind picks me up.
Moving me forward and upward
She calls me to her bussom.

Must I touch the fire
to know it will burn
My tender flesh?
Or will it?

May I dance among the flames
Knowing instead that they will protect me?
I raise my hands up high
Twirling to the beat of my pulse
Like a drum
As my hair swings freely behind me
Harden my feet to to the embers
And tread upon them
Like the sand
Pillowy and soft
I find much comfort in the heat
Scorching my pale body
Hugging my frame in rapture
Kissed deeply and passionately
Without a trace
I yearn for more
And can’t ever have enough.

So I will keep orbiting
‘Round the sun
Without any fear
Believing it is Your will
For me to come closer.
