Man, this is so good! It brought up all the bad emotions from my childhood experience with dodgeball. I felt like I had two choices — get hit really hard with a ball as quickly as possible and pray they didn’t hit my face, or hide behind others. The trouble with hiding, though, was sometimes you would end up being the last one on your team… that was NEVER a good situation — Traumatic. I also have to say, though, that red rover was worse. Not only was it humiliating, but I don’t have a single memory of NOT getting hurt playing red rover. Anyway, thanks for sharing this!
