A Poem

Photo by Shane Rounce on Unsplash

Wake up but can’t get up
Paralyzed with dread
Disconnected from Purpose
I would do anything else instead.

Life lacking meaning
Judgement and pressure to conform
Get up you piece of shit
Weather the storm.

Fix up your face
Fix up your hair
Fix your outward appearance
Is your spirit still in there?

Walk like a zombie
Dragging your feet
Through the hallways and stairways
And all through the street.

Forget that you’re human
Forget that you’re alive
Forget you have talent
You have to survive.

Make it through the morning
Make it through the afternoon
Make it through living
You’ll be done soon.
