Symbiosis
A collaborative, poetic essay with Anna Rozwadowska, Christina Ward 🌼, Zach J. Payne and Sam Kimberle

On August 30th, Anna Rozwadowska, Christina Ward 🌼, Zach J. Payne and I published a collaborative poem called “Symbiosis” in Literally Literary on Medium. It is likely the first of its kind for a variety of reasons.
It is unlikely that Medium has seen such a collaboration between 4 Poets, particularly of the caliber found in this work. Anna, well-known throughout Medium for her poetic brilliance, had this vision — she wanted four Poets to come together to write about nature and the environment.
Anna asked me if I would participate, and I agreed because I enjoyed our previous collaboration entitled “Intimate Petals”:
When I agreed to join this new project, Christina Ward, an award-winning Poet, and friend had also agreed to the collaboration. We wanted a fourth. Anna asked me if I could think of someone to ask, and I immediately thought of Zach Payne. I admire Zach and his poetic ability — he has an impressive command of poetic structure, and really, I am such a fan of his work. When he agreed to join us, I was ecstatic.
The result of our collaboration is sensational.
At one point we were calling our work a “poetic essay” because of it’s length and it’s substance — it is poignant and meaningful. Each of our voices is present, heard, and integrated thanks mostly to Anna, who is a master Editor.
We wrote about the relationship between human and nature. We invoked the pain and the difficulty. We pointed to the work that must still be done.
I feel privileged to have worked with such beautiful and talented Poets. I am lucky to call them friends. Thank you to Anna Rozwadowska, Zach J. Payne and Christina Ward 🌼 for your hard work on this piece — it was absolutely worth it.
